Rowan Casillas (she/her) from San Antonio, TX, began dancing at three, exploring folklorico and flamenco. Joining the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet at 13, she dedicated six years to intensive training in ballet and modern. In summers, she trained with the Dallas Black Dance Theatre (2015-2017) and received choreographic mentorship through the Glenda Brown Choreography Project (2018) and the National Choreography Intensive (2017, 2019, 2021). After graduating from the North East 

School of the Arts in 2019, she pursued further studies at the Boston Conservatory. In her time at the conservatory, she had the pleasure to perform works by Gabrielle Lamb, Gustavo Sansano, Levi Marsman and Bradley Shelver and train under professors like Diane Arvanites, Kurt Douglas, and Brian McGinnis. She was also given the opportunity to expanded her commercial dance education through masterclasses with Ebony Williams and training with Anthony Burell. Graduating in 2023 with a BFA in Contemporary Dance Performance with an emphasis in composition, she now embarks on her pre-professional journey at the Boston Dance Theater as a apprentice.
